Founded in 2008, Speranza Theatre Company subscribes to an actor-director-playwright collaborative approach to story-telling based in honesty and truth. Through risk-taking projects, Speranza seeks to create innovative work which provides a genuine theatrical experience; rousing audiences and giving a voice to artists who pine for progressive, challenging and entertaining theatre.

Bios:
Rachel Cornish (Co-Artistic Director) is a NYC based actor, model & producer who has performed in both Off-Broadway & Regional Theatres, as well as in Television & Indie Films. Professional Highlights Include: Romeo & Juliet (Warren Enters Theatre Gala) with special guest performance by Patti LuPone; World Premier of The Awesome Dance with Dileep Rao (Cherry Pit Theatre); A Midsummer Nights Dream, directed by Austin Pendleton (NSD Theatre); Dolores (La Tea Theatre) private talk back with Playwright Edward Allan Baker, Harold Pinter’s Old Times (59E59), Fat Pig (River Valley Rep) & The Daughters of Eve (Cherry Lane Theatre). Rachel has also appeared in Feature Films such as The Crimson Mask (Winner of over 35 Film Festival Awards); Bone White (Premier Screening at IFC Theatre) & Trooper (a film by Christopher Martini). Heather Wahl (Co-Artistic Director) is a NYC based actor, teacher and producer who has performed onstage in nearly all 50 states, including Off-Broadway in NYC, as well as in Film and TV. Theatre Highlights include: Loose Knit (Centenary Stage); A Body of Water (The Garage Theatre) including a private talk back with playwright Lee Blessing; The Daughters of Eve (Cherry Lane Theatre); Scenes From an Execution (59E59); A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Austin Pendleton; Queen Elizabeth and The Taming of the Shrew with NY Renaissance Faire and Anne Boleyn in Rex, world premiere revival with guest Sheldon Harnick. On-Camera Highlights: 12 Steps to Recovery (winner for Best New Comedy Series); Where Are You Sophia (premiered at Cannes) & Discovery Channel’s Hunted by the Mob.
